Yogi government’s specially trained mounted police will be deployed in the fair for crowd control in Mahakumbh.

Mahakumbhnagar, December 10 (IANS). For crowd control in Mahakumbh, specially trained mounted police of Yogi government will be deployed in the fair. The trained Mounted Police of Uttar Pradesh is specially deployed in Mahakumbh to ease the path of crores of devotees both on land and water. Where police personnel cannot reach on foot, mounted police will go there and ease the way for the devotees. For this, 130 horses, 166 police personnel and staff have been deployed.

In this, along with Indian breed horses, American and English breed horses will also work for crowd control in Mahakumbh. Special care is being taken about the diet and medical facilities of the horses deployed on fair duty.

The role of mounted police will be important in maintaining the security and order of the devotees during the Mahakumbh 2025 to be held in Prayagraj. The use of mounted police for crowd control and patrolling difficult areas is a symbol of efficiency and effectiveness.

With the help of their strong training and magnificent horses, the Kumbh Mela Police Force will not only ensure the safety of the devotees but will also contribute significantly in making the massive Kumbh event smooth and orderly. The presence of mounted police will serve to maintain discipline in the crowd and assure safety to the devotees.

Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police Prashant Kumar said that the horses have been trained in a special way. The horses have been trained at Moradabad and Sitapur training centres. In view of the Maha Kumbh, special training has been given to the Mounted Police, so that the devotees do not suffer any kind of harm, rather, they control the crowd and make a smooth path for them. Mounted Police is adept in crowd management on land as well as in water.

Mounted Police Line’s counter inspector Prem Babu said that American Balm Blood and England’s Throw breed horse have been purchased from the Army for the Maha Kumbh Mela. Apart from this there are also horses of Indian breed. Some of these horses have also been purchased from the army. Every day, mounted police patrol the fair area in the morning and evening to acquaint the horses with the geographical conditions of the Mahakumbh Mela area. Three veterinarians have also been appointed for the horses. Horses of 4 to 5 years of age come into the force and retire at the age of 20.
