Jhunjhunu : A case has come to light of a young man from Jhunjhunu demanding ransom of Rs 1 crore on WhatsApp in the name of gangster Rohit Godara. Threats have been made to kill if the money is not paid. The matter is of Jhunjhunu city. The young man received a call for ransom not once or twice but five times in three days. The person who threatened said the victim, I know you are not a cow servant but a property dealer. If you do not give the money, you will lose your life. Kotwali police station in-charge Pawan Chaubey said – Praveen Swami, resident of Ward 46 of the city, has given a report in this regard in the police station. In it he told that on October 29, he received a voice call on his WhatsApp in the afternoon. The caller claimed to be a member of the Rohit Godara gang and revealed his name as Virendra Charan. Speaking in general terms, he talked about helping his group. The victim Praveen said that I am busy right now, I will talk later.

The person threatening me called repeatedly

Praveen told that on the same day in the evening he again received a call on WhatsApp and the person in front spoke in a threatening tone. Due to this Praveen disconnected the phone. After this, a call came around 12 noon on October 30 and a demand of Rs 50 lakh was made. When he refused to give the money the phone was disconnected. Then he called at around 5:30 in the evening and threatened. The person calling said that I know everything. I have found out that you are not a cow servant but are into property business. The person calling gave four days’ time and threatened to kill.

Demand increased from Rs 50 lakh to Rs 1 crore

After that, on October 31, at 7:30 pm, a WhatsApp call came again from the same number and demanded Rs 1 crore, giving 5 days’ time. Threatened to kill if demand not met. Praveen got scared on this and he went to the police. Police have registered a case on the report of the victim and started investigation.
