Jaipur : Teachers teaching in government English medium Mahatma Gandhi schools and Vivekanand model schools of Rajasthan will be selected through written examination. Not only teachers but also the appointment of principals will be done on the basis of written examination. There are 3737 Mahatma Gandhi English medium schools in the state while there are 134 Vivekanand model English medium schools. For appointment to vacant posts in these schools, written examination will be conducted by the Education Department. Teachers willing to teach in these English medium schools will have to apply online for the exam. The link for online application has been released by the Directorate on the Shala Darpan portal. Applications can be made from 15th July to 12 midnight of 22nd July. After this the date of written examination will be decided.
That’s why this formula is being adopted in government schools
Children studying in English medium government schools should get quality education. For this, this formula is being adopted by the education department. A similar formula was also adopted during the previous government. Earlier the number of schools was less but the Gehlot government increased the number of Mahatma Gandhi schools significantly in the last year of its tenure. In such a situation, this process is being adopted once again by the state government. The teachers and principals who are currently posted in Mahatma Gandhi School and Vivekanand Model School. They do not need to take the written exam again.
The exam is of 100 marks and minimum 40% marks are mandatory
The written exam will be of 100 marks. It is mandatory to get minimum 40 percent marks for eligibility. Eligible teachers will be given appointment in the school of the desired district on the basis of their marks. At the time of application, teachers can choose five schools of different districts as options. Senior teachers will be able to fill the option of all the districts of a division, whereas those applying for the post of lecturer and principal will be able to apply in any district out of all 50 districts. Teachers applying for the district of their current posting will be given 10 percent bonus marks. Counseling will also be done before appointment.
There will be negative marking, no interview
Like competitive exams, there will be negative marking in the written exam given by teachers who wish to teach in English medium schools. One fourth of the marks will be deducted for every wrong answer and for choosing more than one answer. Last time interviews were also conducted but this time the interview has been removed. Teachers from non-TSP area will be able to apply in non-TSP and teachers from TSP area will be able to apply only in TSP area. Teachers will be given appointments according to the vacant posts. This process of written exam will be adopted for the posts of Principal, Lecturer, Senior Teacher, Level One and Level Two, Librarian, Laboratory Assistant, PTI, Computer Teacher etc.
