Due to which many farmers bring onion seeds to the markets and after sowing them, produce onions from them. But the farmers of Gram Panchayat Patliyakulmi of the area do not need to bring seeds from the markets at expensive prices. In village Patliya Kulmi, many farmers are themselves preparing seeds for sowing in Kharif. Under which they prepare onion bundles themselves and by planting bundles in the Kharif (August – September) season, they are earning good profits by preparing the onion crop in just 65-70 days. According to the information, for the last several years, farmers in the district have been earning good income by sowing onions even in Kharif season.
Onion is an important commercial crop. Most of the farmers in the state produce onion in Rabi season. But since few years the inclination of farmers has increased towards Kharif onion. Summer onions do not last long. Due to this, farmers are getting good prices for onion by producing it in Kharif. Village farmers Vishnu Prasad Patidar, Dinesh Patidar, Shyam Babu Patidar etc. told that most of the farmers of Patliyakulmi village prepare onion bundles themselves on the basis of Alwar method and By planting those bunches in Kharif season, onions are being prepared in less time. Along with Alwar district, positive results of Kharif onion production have also been seen in Jhalawar district.
Almost the entire village cultivates onion.
Onion is sown in many villages of the region in which onion is harvested in large quantities in both Rabi and Kharif seasons. But the only village in the area is Pataliya Kulmi where the farmers of the entire village have started cultivating onion in large quantities. According to the department, the Kharif area is 300 bighas. As soon as we enter the village, onion crops are visible in the fields. Go to any farmer’s field, whether it is Rabi season or Kharif season, if onion is not sown in the fields then what is not sown? Farmers are becoming rich by producing onion twice a year. The economic and social condition of many farmers has also started improving. Onion is a cash crop. The money comes into the pocket only when it is sold in the market. Due to which the pocket remains full of money throughout the year.
