Barmer News Desk: During train shunting near Barmer railway station, a youth committed suicide by jumping in front of the train. Due to which he died on the spot. After this the train was stopped.
GRP police was informed. The police have taken the body into custody and shifted it to the hospital mortuary. During this time the family members also reached the spot. At present GRP has started investigation.
According to the police, Jagdish, son of Amarnath Shastri Nagar lived in the slums built under the pass. Barmer Mathura Express was shunting at around 1 pm on Monday. During this time, a young man jumped in front of the train near Shastri Nagar underbridge. Due to this he died on the spot. The youth was identified when family members reached the spot. On receiving the information, police personnel including head constable Hiraram of GRP police station reached the spot. There the body was taken into custody and kept in Barmer Medical College Hospital.
Head Constable Hiram Ram said – After reaching the spot, the body was taken into custody and the train was sent for shunting. Based on the report of the family members, a case has been registered, postmortem of the body has been done and it has been handed over to the family members. At present the reasons for suicide are not known.
