ABVP wins in college student union elections

New Delhi, November 24 (IANS). The results of the student union elections held in various colleges of Delhi University were declared on Sunday. Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad has won most of these.

A statement issued by ABVP said that at least 148 ABVP-backed candidates achieved a landslide victory in the elections held in Delhi University colleges.

The results of the elections held on September 27 in various colleges of Delhi University have been declared after about two months.

The statement said, “With significant victories in Delhi University colleges, ABVP is committed to further strengthen the college campuses and make it a place of holistic development. Kirori Mal College, Sri Aurobindo College, Deen Dayal Upadhyay College, Swami Shraddhanand College, Vivekananda College, Ramanujam College, PGDAV Evening College, B.R. Ambedkar College, Shaheed Rajguru College of Applied Sciences etc. “The sweep shows the confidence and support of the students towards the organization.”

ABVP Delhi state secretary Harsh Attri said, “These victories among college unions reaffirm ABVP’s position as the most trusted student organization. This success is the result of our constant availability to students round the clock on college campuses.”

He said the organization is committed to addressing the challenges faced by students and fighting for their rights. This victory is the victory of every student of Delhi University. He expressed hope that ABVP will register a landslide victory in the Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) elections also. Counting of votes for DUSU elections is scheduled to take place on Monday.

Delhi University, counted among the most prestigious and oldest educational institutions of the country, was established in 1922. More than 90 colleges are affiliated with it. North Campus and South Campus are its two main campuses.
