Ajmer more emphasis on offline exam, no trust on online exam

Ajmer : Ajmer Even in the era of hi-tech IT and 5G technology, educational and recruitment institutions including UPSC-RPSC have less confidence in online examinations. The biggest challenge is the ban on paper leak cases and lack of arrangements like hi-tech computer labs. UPSC-RPSC, Railway Recruitment Board, Banking Service Board, Staff Selection Commission conduct recruitment examinations and universities and colleges conduct annual/semester examinations. 85 percent of the examinations are conducted offline. Only 10 to 15 percent of the institutes are conducting online examinations and checking of copies.

These are the obstacles in online examination

Not enough online connectivity in 50 percent villages

Mistakes in answer keys of 30 to 40 percent papers

There are not even 35 percent hi-tech computer labs.

45 percent paper is not made safely

40 percent OMR-answer sheet not checked, foolproof

Forms are filled online

UPSC All India-Subordinate Examination – 35 to 45 lakhs

RPSC RAS-Subordinate and other exams-10 to 25 lakhs

Staff Selection Commission examinations-15 to 30 lakhs

Subordinate boards of states – 20 to 30 lakhs

Banking services-30 to 40 lakhs

Five-six years ago some examinations were conducted online. Computer lab and online connectivity and security are the first requirements for major examinations. If desired arrangements are in place then steps should be taken towards online mode.
