Alwar : The situation of pollution in Alwar district has become frightening. On Monday, AQI (air quality index) of Alwar crossed 295 and AQI of Bhiwadi crossed 442. Most areas including Alwar, Bhiwadi and Behror were seen engulfed in smog from morning till evening. Due to this, even sunlight did not come out and by evening the effect of cold intensified. Here, the Pollution Board imposed Group-4 restrictions in the entire NCR including Alwar from 8 am on Monday. For the fourth time in the last 18 days, restrictions at different stages of grapes have been implemented.
After the implementation of Grape-4, there will be a ban on all polluting equipment, mines, factories, construction work and all smoke emitting works. At the same time, orders have been issued to close schools and conduct online classes in areas adjacent to NCR where pollution is high. Now diesel generator sets have been banned in Alwar. A ban has been imposed on the entry of trucks coming from outside Delhi. Due to this, trucks and other heavy vehicles from Alwar will not be able to go to Delhi. However, trucks carrying essential goods and CNG and electric trucks have been exempted from the ban.
Vehicle headlights burn during the day, causing irritation in eyes: Traffic was affected due to smog from morning till evening on Monday. People had to use headlights of vehicles even during the day. The smog around the city was also very thick, due to which the hills were not visible. The climate of Alwar-Bhiwadi is worsening. People are feeling suffocated and there is a burning sensation in the eyes.
Grape rules are not being followed: Grape restrictions are not having much impact in the city. Pollution Control Board, Municipal Corporation, UIT and other responsible departments are being negligent. Construction work is going on at many places in the city. Logs are also being used in garbage. There is a pile of construction material on the main roads.
