Jodhpur : The Anti-Corruption Bureau arrested an inspector of Railway Police Force (RPF), a woman sub-inspector and ASI late on Wednesday night for taking a bribe of Rs 65,000 from a ticket agent near Falna railway station in Pali district. The inspector and SI had demanded Rs 1 lakh in exchange for help in a cyber fraud case and returning the seized goods. Bureau’s Deputy Inspector General Harendra Kumar Mahawar said that there is a ticket agent in Falna. A few days ago, a complaint of cyber fraud was received against him. RPF raided his hideout and seized laptop and other material, which were taken to the police station. The victim ticket agent contacted RPF officials to help in the investigation of this case and return the seized goods. Then they demanded a bribe of Rs 1 lakh through someone. The victim ticket agent complained about this to the ACB.
ACB got a confidential verification done on Tuesday, which confirmed the demand of Rs one lakh as bribe. The accused took Rs 35,000 during the verification itself. To take the remaining Rs 65,000 as bribe, ASI called the ticket agent near Falna railway station on Wednesday night, where the victim gave Rs 65,000 to ASI. On getting the signal, ACB raided under the leadership of Additional Superintendent of Police Khiv Singh and detained ASI Ramesh. The bribe amount was recovered from his possession.
Since ASI Ramesh had taken bribe for RPF Inspector Karpal Singh and Sub Inspector Dimple, the bureau officials made both of them talk. In which it was confirmed that both the officers had demanded bribe. The bureau raided and caught RPF Inspector Karpal Singh and SI Dimple. All three were arrested after interrogation late at night. The bureau’s action created panic around the railway station.
