
Guwahati, May 5: Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal welcomed the strong performance of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the Assam Assembly elections. He described this mandate as a robust endorsement of development-oriented governance and people-centric leadership.
The MP from Dibrugarh congratulated Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for the coalition’s impressive victory and expressed gratitude to the people of Assam for giving the BJP a historic mandate.
Sonowal stated, “Assam has made its decision. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Himanta Biswa Sarma. Your relentless energy and hard work have played a crucial role in ensuring that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s message of development reaches every corner of the state. Our collective resolve for a secure and self-reliant Assam will only strengthen in the coming days.”
He noted that this victory reflects the people’s deep trust in the ‘double-engine government’ and its consistent focus on inclusive development, infrastructure growth, and welfare schemes. This mandate will further accelerate the state’s development.
Sonowal remarked, “The people of Assam have once again chosen stability, progress, and strong governance. This mandate is not just a victory but also a responsibility to serve with even greater commitment and dedication.”
He assured that the NDA government will continue to work towards strengthening peace, prosperity, and opportunities across the state. The government will maintain its focus on economic development, youth empowerment, infrastructure expansion, and social harmony.
The senior BJP leader also praised the contributions of party workers, stating that their grassroots activism helped translate the government’s performance into a strong electoral mandate.
