Jodhpur : Jodhpur Central Jail is once again in the headlines. In order to send a mobile phone to a prisoner serving his sentence, a friend first got another prisoner registered to meet him and then reached the visiting room in the jail. He tied a mini mobile to the intercom cable and started sending the mobile inside through the cable from the meshed hall, but when the jail guard got suspicious, the friend left the mobile tied to the cable and ran away with his companion. Surprisingly, both of them even escaped from the main gate which was 300 meters away. The jail administration seized the mobile phone and registered an FIR against the prisoner and his friend who had come to meet him at the Ratanada police station.
According to the police, Ramesh son of Hukmaram, resident of Nevra Road in Mathania area is a prisoner in Jodhpur Central Jail. He ordered a mini mobile through his friend Dharmendra Chaudhary, resident of Gangaani. For this, both of them hatched a conspiracy and decided to come to the jail on the pretext of meeting another prisoner Laharam son of Karnaram. Dharmendra reached the jail with one of his friends. He got registered in the jail to meet prisoner Laharam. After search and investigation at the main gate, both of them reached the meeting room in the jail. They tampered with the intercall cable. They tied the mini mobile to the cable and tried to send it inside through the small hall in the mesh of the meeting room. Meanwhile, the jail guard Laxmanram got suspicious. He stopped the visitors and reached cabin-20 of the meeting room, where he found the mobile tied to the intercall cable. By then, both the visitors went out making an excuse and fled through the main gate of the jail. The guard informed the jail officials.
The truth was revealed during interrogation of the prisoners
The jail administration interrogated the prisoner Laharam. He told that none of his family members come to meet him. No one has come to meet him ever since he has been in the jail. When the prisoner Bharat son of Maganlal, who was deployed to call the prisoners for meetings, was interrogated a shocking revelation was made. Prisoner Ramesh son of Hukmaram had told Bharat that a young man named Dharmendra would come to meet Laharam and he is also bringing some stuff. When Ramesh was questioned in this regard, he accepted that his friend Dharmendra Chaudhary had come to the jail to give him the mobile. He had registered to meet Laharam. Dharmendra has been in jail before as well.
Escaped from jail by running 300 meters on foot
The police posted at the temporary post outside the jail frisks the visitors. Then the RAC jawans frisk them at the main gate of the jail. Despite frisking Dharmendra and his friend, the mobile could not be found. Not only this, when the guard got suspicious while tying the mobile to the cable, both of them comfortably ran three hundred meters and got out of the main gate. The jail security personnel did not even call out to catch them. The jail administration tried to search with the help of Abhay Command and Control Center and the police, but they could not be caught. Two youths had come to the jail to give a mobile to a prisoner. Due to the alertness of the jail guard, suspicion arose. Both of them left the jail leaving the mini mobile tied to the wire. The mobile could not be delivered to the prisoner. The family members themselves are also trying to bring mobiles to the prisoners. Mobiles are being confiscated by conducting continuous searches.
