Jaipur : 21 districts can get a big gift before the by-elections on seven assembly seats in Rajasthan. Some similar indications have been received in the BJP Core Committee meeting. In fact, before the announcement of assembly by-elections, Bhajan Lal government is preparing to lay the foundation stone of the first phase of PKC-ERCP scheme by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This was also discussed in the core committee meeting. Through this also the government will try to woo the voters.

The work of Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (PKC-ERCP) will be done in two phases. Its construction will cost more than Rs 70 thousand crores. The first phase of work will be completed in four years. There is a plan to bring Chambal water to Bisalpur and Isarda dam by the year 2028. At the same time, the work of the second phase will also be started in the middle of the first phase. The government is also doing homework on the second phase. Through this project, water will reach 158 dams, ponds and other water sources instead of 90. Apart from small and big dams, the Water Resources Department has also added ponds and other water sources in the newly prepared DPR for 21 districts.

PKC-ERCP scheme will provide water to 21 districts of Rajasthan. In which Jaipur, Tonk, Ajmer, Dausa, Karauli, Sawai Madhopur, Jhalawar, Baran, Kota, Bundi are already included. Apart from this, the BJP government has also included Dudu, Kotputli-Behror, Deeg, Shahpura, Kekri, Beawar and Gangapur in it.

Besides, farmers will also get water for irrigation. The name of this project has now been changed to Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project.
