Big news came after 30 years from this big dam of Rajasthan, farmers benefited

Pali : Sardar Samand, the second largest dam in Pali district. Which was completed in the year 1905 during the British rule. Since then till today, this dam has overflowed very little. This time due to heavy rains in Sojat area, the fast flowing water in Sukdi river crossed the anicuts and illegal mining pits and reached the dam. The dam overflowed after 30 years since 1994. The water overflowing from the dam and coming out from two sides went strutting in the Guhia Wala and Radiya rivers and reached beyond Jhitra.

According to the farmers, due to mixing of water from the fields with this water, the flow of water continued till Om Banna Than. There was an increase of around 10 cents of water in the dam from morning till 5 pm. Irrigation in these villages There are 20 villages in the irrigation area of Sardarsamand village. 30 years ago too it spilled in September

Earlier in 1994 when the dam overflowed, it was the month of September. The maximum water level in the dam was 0.30 feet. This water level lasted for about 20 days. Now when the dam overflows, the farmers are hopeful that the water level on the dam may last for a month or more. If this happens, the water of the wells which have salty water will also become sweet. Irrigation will also improve with the water from the dam.
This time there will be plenty of rice

Kisan Sangharsh Samiti Sardarmand Dam President Babu Singh Rajpurohit and Secretary Narpat Singh said that due to the overflow of the dam, wells of many villages will be recharged. With the inflow of water, it seems that the water may remain overflowing for the next one month. If this happens, there will be so much paddy in this area that farmers’ houses will be filled with happiness.

Very little water inflow in the dam

The inflow of water in Sardar Samand dam has been decreasing for many years. In the last 14 years, the dam has not filled even once due to anicut and illegal mining. In all these years, the inflow of water in the dam was more than 15 feet only three times. There were five years when the water in the dam was less than 10 feet. This time, the command area is happy as the dam is completely filled.
