Big update on ERCP project, PM Modi can lay the foundation stone

Jaipur : Prime Minister Narendra Modi can lay the foundation stone of Rajasthan’s ambitious PKC-ERCP project on December 15. The state government is making preparations on this basis. Dungri and Tonk areas of Khandar tehsil of Sawai Madhopur have been identified for the foundation stone laying program. However, the foundation stone can also be laid online through the one year completion program of the state government. For this, a proposal has been sent to the Prime Minister’s Office.

Water Resources Minister Suresh Singh Rawat has hit back at the statement given by the Leader of Opposition on ERCP. He said that such Congress rhetoricians should not mislead the public with false statements on ERCP. Bhajan Lal government is working to realize the dream of ERCP and the foundation stone is going to be laid soon.

13 districts of Rajasthan will benefit from ERCP project

The ERCP project will benefit 13 districts of eastern Rajasthan. There is a possibility of irrigation in about 2.82 lakh hectare area from this project. It is estimated that Rs 40 thousand crore will be spent on this scheme. The districts that will benefit from the scheme include Alwar, Dausa, Jaipur, Ajmer, Tonk, Sawai Madhopur, Bundi, Kota, Baran, Jhalawar, Bharatpur, Dholpur and Karauli.

The first dam of ERCP project, Naunera, was tested.

Naunera, the first dam of Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (PKC-ERCP) is ready. The filling capacity of this dam was tested in September. This dam, which has a filling capacity of 217 metres, was filled with more than 210 meters of water. During this period, the water filling level, submergence area and gates of the dam were tested. A total of 226 million cubic meters of water will be stored in the dam.
