Big update regarding getting free wheat in Rajasthan, who got the shock and who got relief?

Jaipur News Desk: Under the Food Security Scheme, the wheat transportation system in Jaipur district is continuously derailing, due to which thousands of quintals of wheat entitled for the poor are getting lapsed every month. The picture of wheat lifting for November is also not visible on the departmental portal of wheat allocation and lifting. Under the scheme, 1 lakh 55 thousand quintals of wheat were allocated in the district. But till November 30, the last date for wheat lifting, 81 thousand 790 quintals of wheat could be lifted and 73 thousand quintals of wheat was lapsed. In such a situation, now 14 lakh beneficiaries of the district will have to worry about wheat in the month of November.

1 lakh 24 thousand quintals of wheat seized in the city itself

It is not that the rights of the beneficiaries living in rural areas have lapsed. Due to lack of offtake, the same situation has arisen in Jaipur city also. 2 lakh 71 thousand quintals of wheat was allocated for the city. Out of which only 1 lakh 46 thousand quintals of wheat was lifted. 1 lakh 24 thousand quintals of wheat lapsed in the month of November. Just as the beneficiaries in rural areas will face difficulty in getting wheat in the month of November, the beneficiaries in the city will have to face similar problems.

DSO was given the responsibility of lifting, but proved to be a failure.

To ensure transparency in wheat procurement, the government took this responsibility from the District Civil Supplies Managers and handed it over to the District Logistics Officers. But now the logistics officials seem to be failing in 100% lifting of wheat. Along with the beneficiaries, the government is also suffering the loss of this situation, because due to 100% offtake of wheat, the image of the state government is tarnished in front of the Central Government.

The government has to request for exemption

Under the Food Security Scheme, wheat for the coming month has to be lifted every month. If the lifting is not done on time, the government urges the Center to take a relaxation of one week to save the wheat from lapsing. Continuously creating such situation is causing disgrace to the government. In October, 6 thousand quintals of wheat were lapsed and 150 quintals of wheat did not reach the ration dealers.
