Jaipur : State Election Commission is now busy preparing for the elections of Panchayati Raj institutions. Instructions have been issued for the establishment of polling stations first for the elections of municipal bodies and now for Panchayati Raj institutions. Chief Electoral Officer Nalini Kathotiya has sent this order to the District Collector. Instructions have been issued regarding the establishment of polling stations and appointment of enumerators for preparing electoral rolls for the general elections of Panchayati Raj Institutions-2025. In such a situation, now a buzz has started in the rural areas regarding the village government i.e. Panchayat elections. There is also discussion in the villages whether the election process will be held like before or there will be simultaneous elections in the state under One State One Election. It is noteworthy that the tenure of all the Panchayati Raj institutions of the state is going to be completed in different months of the coming year. The tenure of some institutions will be completed in January, March, September and October.

Revision program continues

General elections for Panchayati Raj institutions are to be held in 2025. The electoral rolls of Panchayati Raj institutions for the general elections are to be prepared with reference to the qualifying date of January 1, 2025. The Commission will soon release the revision program of electoral rolls for the general elections. Enumerators will be required to prepare ward wise voter list of the Panchayat. The number of polling stations established in the last general election can also be used as the basis for estimating the number of enumerators. Voter lists will be prepared by dividing the updated database of voter lists of the Assembly by dividing them ward-wise of the Panchayat through software developed by the state level agency appointed for the upcoming general elections. The information to be filled in the form for this division process will be prepared by the concerned enumerators.

After uploading the information on the e-list, ward wise format voter lists will be prepared. Such draft voter lists will be physically verified by the concerned enumerator by visiting each voter in his/her wards.
The State Election Commission has started preparations regarding the elections of Panchayati Raj institutions. But no such instructions have been received in the office yet.- Rakesh Kumar, SDM Phagi

One enumerator will be appointed for every 1100 voters for every three or four wards of the Panchayat.
An enumerator will not be allotted wards of more than one panchayat.
As far as possible, only BLOs will be appointed to the post of enumerators.
The personnel posted in the concerned Panchayat will be given priority for appointing enumerator for the same ward.
The enumerator shall not have any affiliation with any political party or engage in political activities.
The work of appointment of enumerators will have to be completed in 7 days.
Tenure will be completed in January and December

Administrators will be appointed in the Gam Panchayat whose tenure will be completed in January. Whereas the tenure of Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti will be completed in December 2025. The Sarpanch is demanding that an administrator not be appointed.
