Due to the exhaustion of gunny bags, the weighing of groundnuts has stopped at four procurement centers in the area including Bikaner : Bikaner Bajju, due to which there is anger among the farmers. Farmers said that they had to monitor the fields day and night from sowing to harvesting. Now, due to shortage of gunny bags, procurement centers are forced to sit on the roadside and monitor peanuts for 2 to 3 days. Regarding the problems of the farmers, the representative visited the procurement centers Bajju, Godu and Phulasar to know about their problems. Farmers told that in this century there is a compulsion to stay awake all night on the roadside.
compulsion to monitor
Farmers told that due to absence of Bardasa, weighing is stopped and peanuts brought from far away places cannot be taken back home. They have brought peanuts in a tractor-trolley and pickup and are sitting there for 2 to 3 days to protect the grains. Due to the increasing number of destitute animals and fear of theft, the committees have to stand guard on the roadside in winter day and night. Some farmers have brought tractor-trolley, pickup etc. on rent, they are paying rent, which is causing loss. Farmers said that the peanuts of 15-20 farmers are being weighed with great difficulty at a procurement centre. In Bajju, the gunny bags ran out after Friday afternoon and at other centers weighing remained closed for three days.
