Beijing, November 14 (IANS). As the problem of global climate change becomes more serious, China, as the world’s largest developing country and carbon emitter, is playing an increasingly important role in global climate action.
Addressing climate change has become a common cause for mankind. As the largest developing country, China has made serious commitments to reduce emissions. This will reduce the highest carbon emissions intensity in the world from carbon peak to carbon neutrality in the shortest possible time.
In this process, China’s role in international cooperation is also irreplaceable. In recent years, the Chinese government has recognized the importance of addressing climate change and has taken a number of measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote green and low-carbon development.
First, China has put forward the concept of ‘green development’ and integrated the construction of ecological civilization into the overall layout of national development. This means China will significantly reduce carbon emissions over the next few decades and make a significant contribution to global climate goals.
Second, China has made significant progress in the field of renewable energy. China has become the largest producer of solar and wind energy in the world and its renewable energy installed capacity and investment ranks first in the world.
The development of these clean energy sources not only helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions, but also provides new impetus to the sustainable development of China’s economy.
In addition, China also actively participates in international climate cooperation. As an important signatory of the Paris Agreement, China has played an active role in promoting the global climate governance process.
China, together with other countries, helps developing countries improve their ability to cope with climate change and jointly respond to global climate challenges through South-South cooperation, the ‘Belt and Road’ initiative and other means .
