Chinese Citizen Arrested in Bihar Attempts Suicide in Central Jail

Patna, June 8 : Li Jiaqi, a Chinese citizen who was arrested from Laxmi Chowk in Muzaffarpur city of Bihar without a valid visa, attempted suicide at the Khudiram Bose Central Jail last night. He tried to cut his private parts with the glass of his spectacles in the toilet of the jail hospital.

He fainted due to excessive bleeding. As soon as this information was received, there was a stir in the jail administration. The jail administration has admitted him to Shri Krishna Jubilee Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH). This information was given by the Central Jail administration.

Jawans of Brahmapura police outpost had nabbed Li Jiaqi near the bus stand. The jail administration has questioned the convicted prisoners in the hospital ward of the jail. The problem with the police is the language.

The local administrative officials or other prisoners of the jail are not able to understand the language of the Chinese citizen. He had eaten curd-rice the previous day and slept in the ward throughout the day after having breakfast in the morning. During the day, the prisoners had also seen him crying.

It is noteworthy that he had a Chinese passport but no valid document to enter India. He had reached Nepal on June 1. After that, he reached Bairiya bus stand in Muzaffarpur by bus from Veerganj city of Nepal, adjacent to Raxaul border in East Champaran district of Bihar. Laxmi Chowk is half a kilometer from here.
