Condition of Jhalawar Anganwadi centre, some found locked

Jhalawar : Women and Child Development Department While on one hand the state government is conscious about the infants and pregnant women and is trying to provide them full benefits by implementing various welfare schemes in their interest, on the other hand the administrative officers in Bhawanimandi municipal area are Due to negligence, Anganwadi workers and assistants are leaving no stone unturned to defraud the department by arbitrarily taxing them and spoiling their schemes. This can be determined by the number of locks hanging at the centers every day and the number of children missing from the centres. In such a situation, how can infants and pregnant women get the benefits of government schemes? In this way, Anganwadi workers and assistants are seen feeding themselves because they have no fear of inspection by any administrative officer.

It is noteworthy that Anganwadi centers are operating in only 40 wards in Bhawanimandi Municipality area. Out of which the Patrika team took stock of half a dozen Anganwadi centers on Tuesday from 11.30 am to 2.45 pm. Out of which 4 centers were found locked. Children were found missing at the same 3 centres.

no officer inspects

The workers and assistants posted at the center leave after doing their duty at the center anytime between one to two hours during the opening time. In such situations, many times children and parents return after seeing the center locked. Local people say that no officer of the concerned department comes to inspect the Anganwadi centers of the area. Due to this, the morale of the employees posted at Anganwadi centers is high. At the same time, nutritious food is not being prepared by them for the children to eat.

The Anganwadi center operated by Ward No. 14 at Sanskrit School Tiraha was found closed. When the surrounding people were inquired about the opening of the centre, it was found that the Anganwadi center was operating in a rented building. But the Anganwadi center is closed due to non-payment of rent for a long time. At present no one has any information about where the center is operating. Even when the Patrika team contacted the ward residents to find the centre, the Anganwadi center was not found. Tried to talk to the assistant and worker posted at the center but no one received the call throughout the day.
