Sriganganagar : Villagers of village 54 GB of Gram Panchayat 56 GB (A) of Anupgarh Panchayat Samiti submitted a memorandum to Collector Awadhesh Meena in the District Collectorate today.
Villager Brijlal told – Construction work of water works is being done in the village under Janata Jal Yojana, but with the connivance of the local administration and the contractor, poor construction material is being used. He alleged that low grade material was being used in the diggi and other structures built in the water works.
The villagers also said that the filters installed in the water works to purify water are in a completely damaged condition. Due to this, pure and clean drinking water is not being supplied to the villagers.
The villagers demanded an investigation from the District Collector into the construction work and strict action against the culprits. Collector Avadhesh Meena assured the villagers that the matter would be thoroughly investigated. If any irregularity is found in the construction work, action will be taken against the culprits.
