Ajmer, November 27 (IANS). On Wednesday, the lower court has approved the petition declaring the Dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti in Ajmer, Rajasthan as a Hindu temple. Issuing notice to all the parties, the court has fixed the next hearing date as December 20, 2024.
Hindu Sena’s Vishnu Gupta, a resident of the national capital Delhi, had filed a petition in the lower court claiming that the Dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti located in Ajmer is a Hindu place of worship.
This petition was heard by the court of Ajmer West Civil Judge Senior Division Manmohan Chandel. Meanwhile, taking cognizance of the suit of plaintiff Vishnu Gupta, the judge has ordered to issue notice to Dargah Committee, Minority Affairs and Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).
Let us tell you that the hearing in the case was also held yesterday i.e. on Tuesday. Even today, a hearing was held in the court and the court accepted the suit and decided to issue orders to issue notice to the Dargah Committee, Minority Affairs and Archaeological Survey of India.
According to media reports, the suit was filed on behalf of Vishnu Gupta citing the book written by Hardayal Sharda. In which, he has claimed that there is a Shiva temple in the Dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti located in Ajmer. The court will hear this case on 20th.
Let us tell you that Hindu organizations have been calling Ajmer Dargah a temple for a long time. In 2022, Hindu organization Maharana Pratap Sena had written a letter to former Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot and the central government, claiming the Dargah to be a temple and demanding an investigation.
Let it be known that recently a petition was heard regarding Shahi Jama Masjid as Harihar Temple in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh. The court had ordered a survey of the mosque. The first survey was conducted at night on 19 November. For the second time on November 24, the survey team had arrived to survey the mosque. A large number of people had protested against the survey. During this period violence broke out.
The police pelted stones and fired tear gas shells to disperse the crowd. However, five youths were killed and many were injured during the uproar. The police have arrested many miscreants and sent them to jail.
Now life has started returning to normal in Sambhal. Schools have opened and many shops selling essential goods have also opened, although internet services are still suspended in the district. The administration has tightened security in sensitive areas after the violence.
