Jaipur : Jaipur is not called the Pink City or Paris of India for nothing. People love its heritage and culture along with its natural beauty. The historical buildings and museums here are the most beautiful and historical. One such example is Jaipur’s 140-year-old Albert Hall, whose beauty people come from far and wide to see. Albert Hall was built by Maharaja Ram Singh in 1886. The ‘Albert Hall Museum’ was named after Britain’s Prince Albert, who was the husband of Queen Victoria. It was designed and built by Maharaja Ram Singh with the help of architects Samuel Swinton Jacob and Tujumul Hussain. A few years after its completion, it was opened for people to see in 1887. Since then, millions of people have seen the beauty of Albert Hall.
Albert Hall looks even more beautiful during the day than it does during the evening. Its beauty is enhanced by the splendid lighting in the evening. At night, people do a lot of photography at Albert Hall and capture its beauty in their cameras. Albert Hall is built in the heart of Jaipur in Ramniwas Bagh, surrounded by a beautiful green garden.
Albert Hall is as beautiful from outside as it is from inside. Interesting artifacts inside Albert Hall include a horse puzzle, a big hookah, various types of guns, daggers, spears and knives, a collection of old coins, semi-precious stone jewellery, musical instruments, stained glass paintings, wax statues of soldiers, kings, miniature paintings, etc. It is worth seeing. Especially in Albert Hall, there is an old mummy kept which people come to see the most.
Albert Hall in Jaipur opens at 9 am and remains open till 8 pm. Ticket rates for Indian tourists are Rs 52. Indian students with school/college IDs are charged Rs 22. Ticket rates for foreign tourists are Rs 302 and for foreign students are Rs 152. Children below 7 years of age are free.
Although you can visit Albert Hall on any day, there are some special days when there is no charge for visiting Albert Hall, especially on Rajasthan Day – 30 March, World Heritage Day – 18 April, World Museum Day – 18 May and World Tourism Day – 27 September, you can visit Albert Hall for free.
