Jaipur : With the slight whisper of cold in Rajasthan, the political heat of assembly by-elections seems to be increasing. Bharatiya Tribal Party has announced candidates from Salumber seat of Udaipur district and Chaurasi seat of Banswara district. BAP has once again given a chance to Jitesh Katara, who stood third in the 2023 assembly elections from Salumbar. Whereas, Anil Katara has been made the candidate from Chaurasi. After giving tickets, the alliance between BAP and Congress has come to a halt. It is noteworthy that in the Lok Sabha elections, Congress and BAP had fought together from Banswara, due to which the alliance was successful in winning.
Bharatiya Adivasi Party has announced the name of Jitesh Katara as its candidate from Salumber assembly seat of Udaipur district. While posting on social media, the father wrote – ‘According to the voting process conducted under the public representative selection system of the Bharatiya Adivasi Party for the Rajasthan Assembly by-election Salumber constituency, Jitesh Katara got the maximum votes. Hence, father’s official candidate from Salumber assembly constituency will be Jitesh Katara.
At the same time, BAP has fielded Anil Katara from Chaurasi assembly seat of Banswad district. While posting on social media, the father wrote – ‘The voting conducted under the Public Representative Selection System (JPSP) of Rajasthan by-election Assembly Chaurasi was counted in which Anil Katara got the maximum votes. The official candidate for Vidhansabha Chaurasi will be Anil Katara.
Mathematics of Salumber Seat
Let us tell you that during the Rajasthan Assembly elections 2023, Amrutlal Meena of BJP had defeated Raghuveer Singh Meena of Indian National Congress from Salumber seat by a margin of 14691 votes. Bharatiya Adivasi Party candidate Jitesh Katara stood third, getting a total of 51 thousand 691 votes. It is noteworthy that Amritlal Meena died on 8 August 2024. After which this seat became vacant.

In the Lok Sabha elections 2023, Congress and BAP contested the Dungarpur-Banswara seat in alliance.
