Jaipur News Desk: Pawan, the driver who rammed the taxi into CM Bhajanlal Sharma’s convoy in Jaipur, died. Pawan had become a father for the second time only 20 days ago. ASI Surendra Singh had already lost his life in the accident that happened on 11th December. Four policemen injured in the accident are undergoing treatment. The accident took place at Akshaypatra Circle at 3 pm on Wednesday. The injured taxi driver was admitted to Mahatma Gandhi Hospital. The driver died during treatment on Thursday afternoon.
Pawan had a son 20 days ago
Deceased Pawan’s brother-in-law Raju told – Pawan was a resident of Karauli. Lived on rent near Jagatpura bus stand number seven. His wife and two children also lived with him. One child is two and a half years old. Second child 20 days old. I left my job from abroad and came to Jaipur only one and a half years ago. Worked abroad for about one and a half years.
Two major lapses in VVIP security in one day
An hour after the accident, a truck filled with cylinders rammed between the cars of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, who was passing through the same circle. Vice President had come to the inauguration program of Sohan Singh Smriti Skill Development Center by Laghu Udyog Bharti. At the same time, CM was also going to this program.
First mistake: Traffic was stopped at Akshaypatra intersection at 3 pm on Monday afternoon. A car with taxi number came from the wrong side, at the same time the CM’s convoy was passing from there. When ASI Surendra Singh posted there tried to stop the taxi, the driver hit him. After this the taxi collided with two more vehicles of the CM’s convoy. Along with ACP Amir Hasan, policemen Balwan Singh and Devendra Singh were also injured. Pawan, the driver of the vehicle that collided, and his companion are also injured. The car owner told that Pawan was on leave today (11 December), don’t know how he reached there with the car.
ASI died during treatment: Surendra Singh had serious head injury. Singh, a resident of Vaishali Nagar, Jaipur, died during treatment at Jeevan Rekha Hospital. He is survived by his wife, a son and daughter. Father is retired from the army. The last rites of the ASI were performed on Thursday at Majra of his native village Kath in Neemrana (Alwar). At the same time, PCC Chief Govind Singh Dotasara has demanded to give martyr status to ASI.
Second mistake: After attending the Vice President’s program at 4.10 pm on Monday afternoon, he was returning to the airport from Akshaya Patra intersection at 4.11 pm. The convoy was coming from Sitapura and a truck filled with cylinders was also coming from Sitapura, which kept moving among the convoy. The convoy passed the truck and left for the airport. Seeing the truck moving near the divider on the side of the convoy, some distance before the intersection, the policemen turned it towards Ramnagariya.
