Some students of Jhalawar Medical College in Rajasthan were working as dummy candidates for the paper solver gang in NEET. They had reached the exam centre in place of others.
A medical student was arrested from an exam centre in Delhi. During interrogation, the name of one of his friends also came up. He was also arrested. Currently, both are on bail and are in college. Similarly, Navi Mumbai Police also caught a student of Jhalawar Medical College giving the exam as a dummy candidate. During interrogation, the name of another student came up and Navi Mumbai Police arrested him too. Currently, all these cases have been transferred to CBI by Delhi Police and Mumbai Police. Further investigation is now being done by a special team of CBI.
Information was sought from the college management 15 days ago
After the matter heated up on Friday, Assistant Professor (Academic) of Medical College Jhalawar, Dr. Mayank Jain had told that 15 days ago, the Delhi Police investigation team had asked the college management for information about 8 students. We were told the names of the students. All these students were from Jhalawar Medical College. They were arrested after interrogation. 8 students were later granted bail.
Apart from this, the Mumbai team first questioned 2 students and then arrested them. Right now both the students are in the custody of Mumbai Crime Branch. No student has been arrested from the centre. When we informed the Delhi Police investigation team, the students were questioned. On the other hand, it is being told that these students are accused of taking Rs. 15 lakh each and appearing in the exam as dummy candidates. Some girl students are also included in this.
