Elderly Man Dies Mysteriously at Gonda Tehsil

Gonda, June 8: Panic erupted in Gonda district’s Tehsil office on Monday when a 60-year-old man, Anil Srivastava, suddenly collapsed and died while reviewing records. A resident of Sitaram Puram Colony, Srivastava had come to the Tehsil for a complaint and record-related work.

According to reports, Srivastava was examining the archival records in room number 16 on the first floor of the Tehsil building when he suddenly fell unconscious while seated. Revenue staff present at the scene immediately informed the authorities.

Upon receiving the information, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Jitendra Kumar Gautam, along with the local police and the Naib Tehsildar, arrived at the location. Police personnel attempted to perform CPR on Srivastava, but his condition had already deteriorated. He was rushed to Gonda Medical College, where doctors declared him dead after examination. Medical professionals indicated that he had likely passed away before reaching the hospital.

Initial reports suggest a heart attack may be the cause of death; however, doctors have not officially confirmed this. Administrative officials stated that the actual cause of death will be determined after the post-mortem report is received. Given the extreme heat currently affecting the region, health-related emergencies are also being considered.

SDM Jitendra Kumar Gautam confirmed the incident, stating that Srivastava had come to inspect records and was sent to the medical college when his health deteriorated, but he was declared dead by doctors. The incident caused chaos within the Tehsil premises. The local police have taken possession of the body and informed the family. A panchnama was conducted in the presence of the family, and the body has been sent for post-mortem. The police and Tehsil administration are currently investigating the matter and awaiting the post-mortem report.
