
Greater Noida, May 27: An encounter occurred on Wednesday between police and a notorious criminal in the Jarcha police station area of Gautam Buddh Nagar. The criminal was injured in the police’s retaliatory action and has been admitted to a hospital for treatment.
Police recovered an illegal firearm, cartridges, and a motorcycle without a number plate from the scene. The injured criminal has 17 cases registered against him across various police stations, including charges of theft, the Gangster Act, and the Arms Act.
According to police, on May 27, the Jarcha police were checking suspicious individuals and vehicles near the Samana canal at the Bulandshahr border. During this time, a motorcycle rider was spotted, and when the police signaled him to stop, he attempted to flee. Realizing he was surrounded by the police, the accused fired at the police team with the intent to kill.
In self-defense, the police retaliated, resulting in the motorcycle rider being injured. The injured individual has been identified as Shahzad (30), a resident of Kalounda village in Jarcha, Gautam Buddh Nagar. Police recovered a firearm, two cartridges, and the unregistered motorcycle from him. Following the incident, the police promptly transported the injured criminal to the hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.
Upon investigation of the accused’s criminal history, it was revealed that he has 17 cases registered against him in various police stations in the Bulandshahr district, including charges of theft, burglary, the Arms Act, and the Gangster Act.
According to police records, Shahzad has cases registered against him in multiple police stations, including Kakod, Aurangabad, Chhatari, Peharsu, Shikarpur, Ahmadgarh, Khurja Dehat, and Kotwali Dehat, involving serious charges of theft, illegal possession of weapons, and the Gangster Act.
Police officials stated that the accused has been active in criminal activities for a long time, and efforts to apprehend him have been ongoing. The police are now interrogating the accused to gather information about his associates and criminal network.
