Patna, November 21 (IANS). At least five bodies were recovered from different areas of Muzaffarpur in Bihar on Thursday.
The five dead included Krishna Kamal Mahanata, an Assam-based businessman from Guwahati, whose body was later found in the Budhi Gandak river at Rajwada in Musahari police station area.
According to media reports, Mahanata was under a lot of stress due to huge losses in his business and lack of money. His son told that due to this stress his behavior also seemed to have changed. He often behaved strangely. He also expressed his desire to live in Muzaffarpur.
Muzaffarpur City SP Vikram Sihag said, “Prima facie it appears to be a case of suicide. However, the police have started a detailed investigation to rule out any foul play and find out the cause of death. The body will be sent for post-mortem.” It has been sent to SKMCH for the same.”
Apart from this, on Thursday morning a dead body of a youth was found with blood stains on the roadside. The incident took place in Dighra locality of Sadar police station area. The police, under the leadership of SDPO Town-2 Vineeta, have initially called it a road accident, but the local people suspect murder. The body of the deceased has been sent to the hospital and the situation is expected to become clear after the report comes.
The third incident took place in Morsandi village of Motipur police station area, where police found a dead body of a person on the banks of Budhi Gandak river. Although the police has sent the body for post-mortem, it has not been identified. Local people suspect murder in this case.
The fourth incident took place on Tirhut embankment of Sahibganj police station area where the body of a youth was found. Police have sent the body to SKMCH for treatment.
The fifth incident took place in Singhon Mishraulia village under Sakra police station area, where a middle-aged man was thrown from a truck and his body was found on the roadside. Police suspect that the person may be a businessman. The police, under the leadership of SI Avinash Kumar, has started investigation based on the statements of eyewitnesses.
District SP Dehat Vidyasagar said, “All the bodies have been sent to SKMCH for post-mortem. We are thoroughly investigating all the incidents, the case will be investigated from multiple angles.”
