Jaipur : Bhajanlal government of Rajasthan is constantly engaged in cutting down the schemes started in Gehlot rule. Now Bhajanlal government has suspended the free electricity scheme and free smartphone scheme of the previous Gehlot government. Let us tell you that earlier, Gehlot was given a big shock by changing the names of Chiranjeevi Yojana, Indira Rasoi Yojana and Rural and Urban Olympic Scheme started in Congress rule. Bhajanlal government has made it clear that the free smartphone scheme started in Congress rule is currently suspended and no decision has been taken on it yet. At the same time, new people will no longer be added to the scheme of giving 100 units of free electricity. The government has given this information in the assembly in response to questions asked about both the schemes. Congress MLA Vikas Chaudhary had asked a question in the context of free smartphone and BJP MLA Radheshyam Bairwa had asked a question in the context of Chief Minister Free Electricity Scheme.
Free smartphone plan postponed
In the assembly, Congress MLA Vikas Chaudhary asked the question whether the government plans to give smartphones to women deprived of smartphones. On this, the government has clarified that the plan to distribute smartphones was postponed after the code of conduct for assembly elections came into force on 9 October 2013 last year. Under this scheme, a provision of Rs 1811.30 crore was made in the financial year 2023-24. Out of this, Rs 1745.22 crore has been spent. The next decision on the smartphone scheme will be taken after examining the benefits to women and public interest from this scheme. In such a situation, it is believed that the government may soon discontinue this scheme.
New people will not get 100 units of free electricity
BJP MLA from Baran-Atru Radheshyam Bairwa asked a question on the Chief Minister’s Free Electricity Scheme. On which Energy Minister Hiralal Nagar said in a written reply that the benefit of the Chief Minister’s Free Electricity Scheme is being given to those registered domestic consumers who have registered a domestic connection with a Jan Aadhar. In this scheme, 98.23 lakh domestic consumers got registered from June 2023 to March 2024. All the consumers who got registered were given the benefit of the scheme. But, the government has no plan to benefit the deprived consumers. That is, it is clear that now new people will not join this scheme with the scheme of giving 100 units of free electricity.
