Jaipur : Minister of State for Cooperation Gautam Kumar said that instead of increasing the Kisan Samman Nidhi to Rs 12,000 right now, it will be increased in a phased manner. Expressing helplessness in taking immediate action on irregularities in housing construction societies, he said that a new cooperative code will be brought to solve this problem. He announced to provide crop loan of Rs 23 thousand crore, opening of one thousand new custom hiring centers to provide agricultural equipment on rent to farmers and recruitment on 700 posts. Cooperative Minister Gautam Kumar was responding to the debate on the grant demand of the Cooperative Department in the Assembly on Thursday. A proposal to give Rs 19 billion 80 crore 29 lakh 71 thousand for the expenses of the Cooperative Department was passed. He told that Bhajan Lal government has given crop loan to 24 lakh farmers. In the coming days, in the first phase, Gopal Credit Cards will be given to 5 lakh families, through which interest-free loan of up to one lakh rupees will be available.
MODERNIZATION OF CONSUMER STORES
The Cooperation Minister said that the cooperative consumer wholesale stores will be modernized to provide cheap and good quality products to the general public.
20 percent of the population is associated with cooperatives
The Minister of State for Cooperation said that 20 percent of the state’s population is associated with cooperatives. Rajasthan’s 41 thousand cooperative societies have a share capital of more than 21 thousand 480 crore rupees and a working capital of more than one lakh 37 thousand 96 crore rupees. In the current financial year, crop loan of 23 thousand crore rupees will be distributed and 5 lakh new members will be added.
