Jaipur : Jaipur Handicraft printing of Sanganer and Bagru is known for its uniqueness and beauty not only in the country but across the world. But now this traditional industry is facing a serious crisis. While on one hand the migration of artisans is increasing due to pollution and government neglect, on the other hand the business of screen printing has started growing. Despite this, people associated with this industry are still hopeful that if the government gives the status of ‘Craft City’ and ‘Craft Village’ to these areas, then this printing industry can not only survive but also touch new heights. . The annual turnover of these prints is more than Rs 10,000 crore, out of which Rs 2,500 crore is being traded abroad. About 32,000 people are employed in this industry, out of which about 24,000 people are working in Sanganer and 8,000 in Bagru. There are more than 500 hand block printing units in both Sanganer and Bagru, while more than 2,000 screen printing units are also operating in Sanganer.

The bottlenecks at the Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) should be resolved here. This employment should get concessions.

If Sanganer is given the status of Craft City then foreigners will come. Many government schemes will come. This will increase the business two times.
