Pratapgarh : Recently an exercise has been started under Dharti Aaba Tribal Utkarsh Abhiyan to increase the income of tribal farmers living in Pratapgarh forest. Under this scheme, seeds of improved wheat and lentils are being distributed in the Rabi season to the farmers holding Forest Rights Act leases living in the forests of the state. Due to which the lease holder farmers will be able to produce wheat and lentils in this season. Under the scheme, minikits of seeds are being distributed by the Agriculture Department to the leaseholder farmers. In which, under the Chief Minister Seed Swavalban Scheme and SMSP Seed Village Programme, during Rabi 2024-25, seeds of improved varieties will be distributed free of cost to the farmers holding leases under forest rights for the production of wheat crop seeds. Similarly, in order to promote the rapid spread of new varieties and hybrid varieties of pulse crops, free lentil seed minikits will be distributed to farmers holding Forest Rights Act leases under the scheme. Eight thousand farmers living in the forest of Pratapgarh will be benefited under the scheme. The Agriculture Department has started efforts to supply seeds to the farmers.
Farmers living in the forests of these districts benefit
Under this scheme, benefits will be available in 8 districts of the state. In which the lease holders of forest rights can be benefited. These include Banswara, Salubar, Pratapgarh, Udaipur, Dungarpur, Sirohi, Pali, Chittorgarh districts of the state. Minikits of lentils will be distributed in these districts. Whereas wheat seeds will be distributed to the farmers of Banswara, Dungarpur, Pratapgarh, Udaipur and Sirohi districts.
Information about advanced agriculture will be given in the scheme
Under the scheme, lease holder farmers will be given information about advanced agriculture. On behalf of the Agriculture Department, lentil and wheat seed minikits will be distributed in Rabi 2024 to the Forest Rights Act lease holders through Jan Aadhar Card through Raj Kisan Sathi Portal. Will be organized on the fields of farmers. In which training, farmers seminar will be organized and minikit inspection will be done.
Farmer groups will be formed
The implementation of the scheme has been started. In which a group of 50 farmers will be formed and seeds will be distributed. The members of the farmer group formed under the scheme will be given technical information about seed production through trainings and farmer seminars organized in other schemes of the department.
