In this district of Rajasthan, villagers beat a panther to death, FIR registered

Sawai Madhopur : After a panther attacked people in Kolada village of Baunli subdivision on Thursday, the villagers killed the panther by pelting stones at it. Prima facie, it appeared so and the forest department has registered a case against unknown people under the Wildlife Protection Act. The forest department team took the body of the panther to the Baunli forest range office. From where it was taken to Sawai Madhopur for post-mortem on Friday afternoon. Actually, on Thursday evening, a panther attacked Ladphool Meena’s residential house in Kolada village and killed a calf. The panther also attacked Ladphool who had come to save the cattle. During this, the panther also attacked Hansraj and Shakir who came to intervene.

After this, all three injured were taken to Baunli Hospital, from where they were referred to the district hospital. On receiving the information, Forest Officer Bhupendra Singh and his team reached the spot. The body of the panther was found in the populated area. The Forest Officer said that the panther was in a dead state. The panther was buried under stones weighing about 10 to 15 kg. The panther was videotaped and photographed from the spot. On the instructions of Deputy Forest Conservator Shravan Kumar Reddy, Forest Department Baunli has registered a case against unknown people under various sections of the Wildlife Protection Act for killing the panther by the villagers. The case is being investigated. Meanwhile, Baunli Police Station Officer, ASP, Deputy Superintendent Baunli along with Japta reached the spot, the dead male panther was sent to Joint Director Animal Husbandry Department Sawai Madhopur First Class Hospital for post-mortem by the medical board, from where the panther will be cremated after the post-mortem.
