New Delhi, November 23 (IANS). India is recognized as the fifth largest economy in the world. The country on the path of progress will be known as the fourth and then third largest economy in the coming years. There is full confidence in India to move ahead and under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, the country is going to become a global manufacturing hub.
PM Modi’s vision and plans for a new enthusiasm and boom in Indian manufacturing are being appreciated.
In a media event, Bharat Forge Chairman Baba Kalyani gave the example of Germany in manufacturing, forging and engineering and said that India can learn from Germany. Just as Germany is a big name for India in everything from cars to machine tools and other equipment, similarly India should learn from Germany how to become a product nation.
He further said that India has all the qualities to become a product nation. There is ambition, availability of material resources and growing market in the country, but there are still many shortcomings. PM Modi is taking many big steps to overcome these shortcomings and strengthen India’s manufacturing sector. ‘PM Gati Shakti Yojana’ was also praised for its objective of making India a manufacturing hub.
The current government’s ‘PM Gati Shakti Yojana’ is playing an important role in strengthening the country’s infrastructure and improving logistics. ‘PM Gati Shakti’ is known as the national master plan for multi-modal connectivity in the country. Under this scheme, coordination has to be established between 16 ministries of the government. So that projects of ministries like road, rail, oil and gas can be brought together on a digital platform, work can be expedited and costs can be reduced.
German car company Mercedes-Benz Group said that the company aims to produce for the domestic market in India. With this, the company wants to move forward on the path of increasing production for export. Before India, the company had adopted this model in many other markets like America, China and South Africa.
