Kota : Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) took major action in Kota on Thursday night. The ACB caught the handloom inspector of the District Industries Centre, a woman chartered accountant and her office assistant red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 16,500. The accused are accused of demanding bribe to approve a loan of Rs 10 lakh under the Prime Minister’s Employment Guarantee Scheme.
The ACB had received a complaint that Mahendra Singh Rajawat, handloom inspector of the District Industries Centre, was demanding a bribe of Rs 18,000 through Venus Maheshwari, a female chartered accountant. This bribe was being demanded to sanction a loan of Rs 10 lakh under the Prime Minister’s Employment Guarantee Scheme.

After the complaint was confirmed, ACB laid a trap. ACB caught Venus Maheshwari, her office assistant Sameer Ali and Mahendra Singh Rajawat red handed while taking bribe of Rs 16,500.
During verification of the complaint, it was revealed that Venus Maheshwari had already taken Rs 8,000 as bribe. Of these, Rs 6,500 have been recovered from them.

This action was taken under the direction of ACB Deputy Inspector General of Police Shivraj Meena. The complaint was verified under the leadership of Mukul Sharma, Additional Superintendent of Police, Special Unit of ACB, Kota. Police Inspector Anita along with her team caught the accused red handed. Deputy Superintendent of Police Tarachand was also included in the team.
