Beijing, November 13 (IANS). Peruvian Congress President Eduardo Salahuana said in a recent interview with Xinhua News Agency in the country’s capital Lima that Peru highly appreciates relations with China and looks forward to further cooperation in various fields during President Xi Jinping’s current visit. hopes to deepen and create greater benefits for the people of both countries.
At the invitation of Dina Bolwart, President of the Republic of Peru, Chinese President Xi Jinping will attend the 31st Meeting of the Leaders of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) held in Lima from 13 to 17 November and pay a state visit to Peru. Salahuana said this is President Xi Jinping’s second visit to Peru after his state visit in 2016. The Peruvian people are very much looking forward to Xi Jinping’s arrival. Xi Jinping’s visit will further strengthen the traditional friendship between Peru and China and deepen cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
Salahuana said that as an important member of APEC, China actively promotes the development of regional trade and investment, promotes technology transfer cooperation and strengthens infrastructure interconnection. China is an important engine for world economic growth. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the China-Latin America Forum.
Salahuana said China plays an important role in promoting the development of Latin America. Many Latin American countries consider China an important strategic partner. This partnership is not limited to commercial and economic sectors only, but covers cultural exchange, multilateral cooperation, technological exchange and experience sharing. Peru-China relations are ‘close and comfortable’ and we look forward to further cooperation between the two countries in various fields in the future.
