Jaipur : GRP Police Station Jaipur has busted a gang involved in stealing jewelery from the bags of passengers in running trains and arrested three accused. The accused include two women and one man. Police have also recovered gold jewelery worth about Rs 13 lakh from them. GRP police station SHO Virendra Kuril said – Pooja Kanwar (28), resident of Gogamedi Hanumangarh, lodged a report in the GRP police station. Told in the complaint – On November 25, she was going to Jhunjhunu with her aunt by train Ganganagar Express. While boarding the train, two purses containing gold jewelery were stolen from her bag. The police registered the report and started investigating the case.
Due to non-availability of CCTV cameras at Balaji of Dhehar railway station, it was difficult to identify the accused. The police identified the complainant by showing him photographs of old criminals. After this, the help of CCTV cameras of houses and shops around the railway station was taken. After the investigation confirmed the presence of suspects, the team took proactive action.
With the information and technical assistance of the informer, the police arrested suspicious women roaming near Jaipur Railway Station. Among the arrested women, Kiran alias Bablu and Bharti resident of Bhilwadi Bhavnagar Gujarat and their associate Naveen resident Bapu Kachchi Basti Vidyadhar Nagar have been arrested. Jewelery worth Rs 13 lakh stolen in the crime has also been recovered from the possession of the accused. Investigation revealed that Naveen used to keep a vigil at the spot and help the women. All three accused used to commit theft incidents in running trains for the last two-three years.
Under the leadership of Police Station Officer Virendra Kuril, it included Sumer Singh (Head Constable), Manak Chand, Rohit Sekwal, Pradeep Singh and lady constable Sarita. The team took prompt action and arrested the accused within 24 hours. Many criminal cases are already registered against the accused. These include many cases of theft in GRP Jaipur and Adarsh Nagar police stations. Police say that interrogation of the accused is going on in connection with other incidents. GRP police station Jaipur has decided to run a special campaign to curb the increasing incidents of theft in trains.
