Jodhpur : Jodhpur Ram-Janaki marriage festival will be celebrated on Margashirsha Shukla Panchami Friday. The marriage ceremony of Lord Shri Ram and Mata Janaki will be held in the Ram temples of the city. On this occasion, Ram-Janaki marriage ceremony will be held on Friday in the three-day Ram-Janaki marriage festival going on at Sardarpura Satsang Bhawan. As part of the programme, a procession of Lord Shri Ram will take place with musical instruments and the marriage ceremony will take place at the auspicious time. The procession will go from Gol Building to Satsang Bhawan at 3.15 pm. At the same time, the marriage ceremony will be held at Satsang Bhawan at 6 pm. Earlier on Thursday, Haldi and Mehndi rituals of Lord Shri Ram and Mata Janaki took place in the presence of saints like Saint Ramprasad of Bada Ramdwara Sursagar, Khedapacharya Purushottam Das Maharaj etc. During this time, devotees like Mahant Babahath Yogi Maharaj, Rishi Shwaranand Maharaj, Satyaprakash, Aruna Mathur, Prabha Mathur etc. were present from Haridwar.
40 day event in Lakshmi Narasimha Temple
The marriage festival of Maryada Purushottam Lord Shri Ram and Janaki continues for 40 days in the Lakshmi Narasimha Temple located in the inner city of City Police. Ram-Janaki marriage festival will be celebrated on Margashirsha Shukla Panchami Friday. Temple trustee Manoj Aggarwal said that there will be darshan of Chhappan Bhog from 5 to 7 pm, Ram-Janaki marriage festival bhajan, aarti and distribution of prasad from 8 pm. Also, priests, singers performing Kirtan-Sankirtan etc. will be honoured. This festival started from Kartik Sudi Panchami, which will conclude on Margashirsha Shukla Purnima.
