Sriganganagar : A heart-wrenching case has come to light in Karanpur of Sriganganagar district. A married woman killed her two innocent daughters by drowning them in water and then drank poison and set the room on fire. The married woman has been admitted to the hospital in critical condition. He had gone abroad a few days ago to earn money for the woman.
Husband has gone abroad for work
Karanpur CO Sanjeev Chauhan said that after receiving information about the incident, he reached the spot along with the SHO and took stock of the situation. The married woman’s brother-in-law Samandeep told that his brother Pawandeep Singh had gone to Cyprus for work on August 15. He told that his mother and other brother had gone to the farm and his father had also gone to Karanpur for labour. At the time of the incident, the married woman was alone in the house with two daughters.
He himself drank poison and set the room on fire.
Meanwhile, the married woman sent an audio message on her mobile phone to her brother Jaggu, resident of Padampur, that she was leaving the world. Bye-bye. As soon as Jaggu heard the audio message, he immediately called the woman’s brother-in-law Samandeep and told him that his sister was going to commit suicide. When Samandeep ran home, the door of the room was closed from inside and smoke was coming out from it.
Both daughters were thrown into the water tank.
When he broke the door and went inside, he saw that his sister-in-law was lying unconscious and the bed was on fire. When he went to fetch water from the trunk, the bodies of the two girls, Gurleen and Harleen, were lying in the trunk. Seeing this, Samandeep was shocked. When he raised an alarm, people from the neighborhood came running. People extinguished the fire in the room and the married woman was immediately taken to the hospital.
Reasons for the incident not known
On receiving information about the incident, police reached the spot. The police have kept the bodies of both the girls in the hospital mortuary. The station in-charge said that as the condition of the married woman became serious, she was referred to a higher centre. According to the family members of the married woman, why she took such a step will be known only after she regains consciousness. At present the police is busy investigating the case.
