Kota : The handover process has been completed in the Collectorate with the aim of getting the possession of the land to the Airport Authority of India for the establishment of a green field airport in Kota as soon as possible. Now the construction work of the airport will start from May 25.
The runway of this airport will be 3200 meters long and 45 meters wide. Seven aircraft parking areas will be built at the new airport. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, in the meeting held on November 6, had instructed the concerned departments to hand over the possession of the land to the Airport Authority within 7 days.
Airport will be built 25 kilometers away from Kota city
The process of transfer of 440.6461 hectares of land took place between Airport Director Tulsiram Meena and Additional District Collector Administration Mukesh Kumar Chaudhary in the presence of Collector Dr. Ravindra Goswami. It is noteworthy that recently the construction work of the proposed Green Field Airport in Kota has received approval from the Union Environment Ministry.
Last Wednesday, an important meeting of senior officials of the Rajasthan State Administration with the Chairman and officials of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) was held in the Parliament House under the chairmanship of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla in hybrid mode, in which the construction of the airport was discussed. The construction of Kota Green Field Airport will start from May 2025 after all necessary approvals. Work will start by December 2027. This airport is being built in an area of 1005 acres, about 25 kilometers away from Kota city of Rajasthan.
