Nawada . A luxury vehicle laden with liquor crashed into a dry tree near the Samyakta Janch Chowki in Chitrakoli Panchayat under Rajauli police station area of Nawada district on Thursday evening, just 500 meters from the chowki.
Looking at the wrecked vehicle, it seems that the deceased might have been thinking of crossing the Samyakta Janch Chowki with the liquor-laden car, but seeing the intensive vehicle checking by the excise forces deployed at the chowki, he again met with an accident while trying to flee towards Jharkhand. The driver of the car died in the road accident. In fact, the accident occurred while the liquor-laden luxury vehicle was trying to flee from the police.
Station House Officer Rajesh Kumar said that information was received from Excise SI Pintu Kumar and SI Sunny Kumar, deployed at the chowki, that a vehicle had met with an accident. In the light of the information, SI Gautam Kumar, posted at the police station, was sent to the spot along with the police force. With the help of the police force, the driver trapped in the wrecked car was pulled out and sent to the subdivisional hospital for treatment. Where the doctor declared the driver dead.
The SHO said that 210 bottles of foreign liquor named Imperial Blue have been recovered from the wrecked car number WB06 1545. While hundreds of bottles of liquor etc. were broken and scattered around the wrecked car and the surrounding area. The SHO said that the body of the deceased car driver has been sent to Sadar Hospital Nawada for postmortem. He also said that the identity of the deceased car driver has not been ascertained yet.
