Maharashtra: Boiler blast triggers massive fire at chemical factory in Dombivali, 44 injured

Mumbai . A boiler blast at Amber Chemical Company in Sonarpada, MIDC area of Dombivali, Maharashtra, triggered a massive fire on Thursday afternoon. At least 44 workers were injured in the incident. All have been admitted to nearby hospitals.

The Kalyan-Dombivali Municipal Commissioner informed that the boiler blast occurred at Amber Chemicals in Dombivali MIDC area at around 1:30 pm on Thursday. Upon receiving the information, 10 fire engines have reached the spot and are trying to douse the fire. The team of Dombivali police station is present at the spot and trying to evacuate people safely.

So far, 44 people have been injured in the incident. Four of the injured have been admitted to the ICU. Four to five of the injured have suffered minor injuries. Fire brigades have also been called from other cities due to the chemical fire at the spot. Ambulance arrangements have been made at the spot and beds have also been reserved in hospitals. Firefighting is going on a war footing.

Local citizens said that there was a blast in one boiler first. After that, there were three such big blasts one after the other, the sound of which was heard up to three kilometers. After that, a fire broke out in the company. When the fire broke out in the company, more than 50 workers were working in the company. Many workers had come out safely as soon as they got the smell of fire. It is being told that the fire at Amber company reached the Hyundai company’s showroom next door and the entire showroom was burnt down.
