Two Welders Killed in Fall at NCL Mine in Singrauli

Bhopal, May 22, 2024: Two contract welders were killed in an accident at the Dudhichua coal mine of NCL’s Mega Projects in Singrauli district of Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday. The accident was unexpected.

Birsa Oraon and Sukhram, employed by M/s Bhaskar Enterprises, were engaged in welding work on a fire hydrant when they lost their balance at a height and fell. The critically injured welders were rushed to the Nehru Shatabdi Hospital by those present at the site, but unfortunately, they were declared dead by the doctors upon arrival.

Expressing deep condolences over the loss of life, the NCL management assured the families of the deceased of their full support and confirmed that all due benefits will be provided expeditiously as per regulations. Additionally, the company informed the safety regulatory body ‘DGMS’ about the accident and initiated a high-level internal investigation to determine the cause and prevent similar incidents in the future.
