Major police action, gold worth crores of rupees recovered from smugglers

After the customs department’s crackdown at the airport, smugglers are now smuggling gold via train instead of air. On Tuesday, the Jaipur Regional Unit (JRU) of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) arrested two smugglers at Jaipur railway station and Kolkata railway station, who were found carrying 2.4 kg of gold.

Its cost is around Rs 1.80 crore. The gold was being brought from Bangladesh. The smugglers had hidden the gold in the belt. DRI has arrested both of them. Apart from this, the receiver has also been caught at the railway station, who is being questioned.
