Bhopal 16 November (IANS). Congress has demanded replacement of all 32 micro observers appointed for counting of votes in Vijaypur assembly seat of Sheopur district of Madhya Pradesh. Congress alleges that all these micro observers have closeness to BJP candidate Ramniwas Rawat.
Election Commission work in-charge of State Congress, J.P. Dhanopia has complained to the Chief Electoral Officer demanding removal from the duty of the micro observer appointed for the counting of votes for Vijaypur Assembly by-election to be held on November 23. He alleges that all these micro observers are his own caste brothers and relatives of BJP candidate Ramniwas Rawat.
Dhanopia alleges that after the voting for Vijaypur Assembly by-election ends on November 13, the counting of votes is scheduled to take place on November 23. On the behest of BJP candidate Forest Minister Ramniwas Rawat, District Election Officer Sheopur Kishore Kanyal has appointed Rawat’s own caste and relatives as micro observers for counting of votes, out of which 25 micro observers are relatives of Meena and Rawat communities and the other seven are their relatives. There are employees who remain in personal contact. It is clear from this that on the day of counting, similar inappropriate activities will take place as had happened on the day of voting, 13th November.
Congress’s Election Commission work in-charge Dhanopia said that Mukesh Malhotra, the Congress candidate from Vijaypur assembly constituency, has expressed distrust towards the 32 micro observers appointed above and has demanded their immediate removal from duty on the counting day.
In the memorandum submitted by the Congress to the Chief Electoral Officer, it has been said that all the above mentioned 32 micro observers appointed for counting of votes should be replaced by officers and employees who are without bias towards the proletariat class, so that the counting of votes can be conducted in a fair and independent manner.
