Nagaur : The work of the 190-bed hospital building under construction for the last two years in the JLN Government District Hospital complex of Nagaur district headquarters is also going on at a slow pace. The contractor was to complete the work on this building in July 2024, but 60 percent of the work has not been completed yet, so it can be estimated that it will take four-five more months to get the building ready.
It is noteworthy that to increase the bed capacity of JLN Government District Hospital, the state government had announced to build a 190-bed hospital in the budget of 2022-23 about two and a half years ago. After some time, the state government had also approved a budget of Rs 56 crore for the implementation of the announcement. After that, RSRDC adopted the tender process and awarded the contract for the construction of the building for about Rs 29 crore. Under that, the contractor had to complete the construction work by 11 July 2024. Despite half of November having passed, more than 40 percent of the work on the hospital building is still pending. It is noteworthy that at present the bed capacity of the district hospital is 300, but in view of the medical college, now the bed capacity of JLN Hospital will be increased to 490. For this, a new hospital building with 190 beds is being prepared on the vacant land behind the main building in the hospital complex.
100 bed critical care hospital will also be added
After the 190-bed hospital building is ready in JLN Hospital, a 100-bed Critical Care Hospital will be built by connecting it, in which patients with serious diseases including heart disease and cancer will be treated. Although Rajmesh had released a budget of Rs 44.50 crore for the Critical Care Hospital in September last year, a lot of time passed in deciding the location for the building. Now RSRDC has completed the tender process, but the contractor has not deposited 25 percent of the amount as per rules, due to which the tender has not been approved.
