NEET (UG) 2026 Exam Rescheduled Amid Paper Leak Controversy

New Delhi, May 15: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that the NEET (UG) 2026 exam will be rescheduled, with the new date set for June 21, 2026. This decision comes after receiving approval from the Government of India.

Following this announcement, over 2.2 million students have received some relief from the uncertainty they have faced in recent times. The NTA has urged students and parents to rely solely on official communications and to avoid any rumors. To assist in this, the agency has provided its official website and contact numbers to prevent the spread of misinformation.

On its official social media account on X, the NTA stated, “NEET (UG) 2026 — Exam date announcement. With the approval of the Government of India, the National Testing Agency has decided to conduct the NEET (UG) 2026 exam again on Sunday, June 21, 2026.”

The post further requested that candidates and parents trust only the official channels of the NTA. It included the official website and contact numbers 011-40759000 / 011-69227700 for verification.

The decision to reschedule follows allegations of paper leaks and irregularities during the NEET UG exam held on May 3, 2026. Initial investigations raised concerns about the integrity of the examination process, leading to the decision to cancel the exam and prepare for a fresh attempt.

Given the seriousness of the situation, the investigation has been handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is now working to uncover the network or syndicate behind the paper leak and identify those involved.
