Jodhpur : Jodhpur Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said that he has asked the state government to provide relief in 14 percent GST on aviation fuel used in flights taking off from Rajasthan. If this relief is provided, flights will start parking here at night. Because there will be relief in the price of fuel available from here. In such a situation, flights will start available from here early in the morning. He was addressing the meeting of the Airport Advisory Committee. He said that approximately Rs 480 crore is being spent on the expansion work of Jodhpur Airport. The target has been set to complete the construction work of the new terminal building by May 2025. Airport Director GK Chandna informed them that the construction work will be completed by June 2025. Shekhawat said that efforts should be made to complete the work quickly, so that the remaining work can be completed by next Diwali and the new airport building can be gifted to the people of Jodhpur. Instructions to widen Airport Road and improve railing-divider till Circuit House
On this occasion, he discussed various aspects including providing better facilities at the new terminal as well as the existing airport. Special instructions were given to solve the parking problem. District administration officials were instructed to widen the airport road, cover the drain and repair the railings and dividers from the airport to the circuit house with immediate effect. Gave necessary directions to complete the airport expansion work as soon as possible. Chandna told that the security hold area of the passengers has been increased, which now has seating arrangement for 175 additional passengers, which is why now the passengers are not facing much problem due to crowd. Describing an 18 percent growth in passenger load, he estimated 12 lakh passengers to travel through the airport in this financial year.
