When innocent people were made victims of online fraud on the pretext of getting relief from venereal diseases and impotence. These miscreants have been arrested under Operation Antivirus. Under the campaign, 5 vicious criminals have been arrested near Jurehra Canal. According to Jurehara police station officer of Deeg district, Yogendra, 7 smartphones and 7 fake SIM cards have been recovered from the spot. After presenting the accused in the court, they have been sent on remand for three days.
Used to target through social media, then calls would start.
This incident was carried out in a vicious manner. Earlier, these thugs used to target people through advertisements on social media platforms. Then when the victim fell into the trap, he was given fake information about medicines to get rid of venereal disease and impotence. In the name of delivering these medicines, money was deposited from the person in front. Then money was withdrawn from the victim’s account by sending a QR code.
Girl used to make video calls in the name of impotence treatment
Not only this, money was extorted from people in many other ways. Many times the girl used to make video calls to the concerned person in the name of checking his impotence. During this time the video of the person was recorded. Then through that video they used to blackmail the person and pressure him to pay huge amount. There was also a threat to make the video viral if the money was not received. After which, due to fear of reputation in the society, many people were forced to transfer money.
